To ensure we provide essential continuity of care to our children, Stuart Park Neighbourhood and Child Care Centre has implemented an effective staff incentive program. Educators are paid at 20% above award wages, receive five weeks annual leave (plus an extra day off on their birthday), paid professional development opportunities and mentoring and support from the Director. The Service also supports educators by providing reduced fees for those staff who have children attending the Service. In addition, educators have the opportunity to reflect on their professional development and support requirements through an annual performance review process. This has resulted in the development of individual performance indicators that, if achieved throughout the year, entitle the staff member to a bonus payment in December.
The Service also shares and celebrates educator achievements and milestones with families to help build relationships. Events such as an educator completing a course of study or reaching a length of service anniversary is recognised and celebrated by everyone.
To ensure staff opinions, expertise and skills are recognised and utilised, their input into the Centre’s regular policy and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) review processes is sought. They are also given the opportunity to contribute feedback through exit interviews upon finishing work with the Centre.
